Fashion News Roundup: H&M and Jimmy Choo, Rachel Roy’s Macy’s Appearances, Maria Sharapova and Cole Haan’s College Tour, and the Hermès Petit Journal de la Soie

After successful brand collaborations with Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, and Viktor & Rolf, H&M is pairing up with another fashion powerhouse—Jimmy Choo. The limited collection of shoes and accessories for both men and women will debut on November 14.

Rachel Roy has been making in-store appearances from Chicago to San Francisco to promote her new line, Rachel Rachel Roy for Macy’s. According to Roy, “Accessible fashion has always been a passion of mine. Every woman should have the opportunity to express herself through style. Being able to design a contemporary product line that truly reflects a sense of individuality is a great honor. Macy’s has been an embracing partner in helping us launch this redefinition of a new lifestyle collection.”

Rachel Rachel RoyThis venture to offer Rachel Roy’s designs at a lower price point and to a younger audience is a part of a strategy developed by the Jones Apparel Group, Roy’s marketing and licensing partner, to support and expand the Rachel Roy brand to reach a diverse audience and increase demand at different price levels. Jones Apparel Group, Inc. is a leading designer, marketer and wholesaler of branded apparel, footwear and accessories. The company markets apparel under the Rachel Roy brand licensed from Rachel Roy IP Company, LLC.

Tennis phenom, Maria Sharapova, is going on the road this fall to promote her design partnership with Cole Haan. Sharpova will be stopping at various colleges in the southeast to hold trunk shows for sororities where students can purchases shoes and purses from the line.

The heritage brand, Hermès, presents its Petit Journal de la Soie, a pocket-sized journal which features chic, Hermes Petit Journal de la Soieeveryday people incorporating classic, silk scarves—a Hermès signature accessory—into their wardrobes. The pictorial is fresh, daring, and invokes youthfulness while staying true to the brand’s elegance. The journal is being distributed as a supplement for October issues of magazines including Elle and others.
